UIS “Evening with the Arts” features sculpture, theater, and danceMarch 11, 2005SPRINGFIELD - Sculpture, theater, dance, and good food will all be part of an Evening with the Arts, to be held Friday, April 1, on campus at the University of Illinois at Springfield. Sponsored by the U of I Alumni Association at UIS, the evening will present opportunities for the community to enjoy a variety of arts-related activities.
A candlelight buffet dinner and cash bar will follow from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. in the Public Affairs Center Restaurant. Cost for dinner is $30 per person, or $20 per person for current members of the Alumni Association and their guests. Following dinner, participants will be able to choose between two events -- the UIS Theater Program’s production of the comedy-drama Fifth of July by Lanford Wilson or a performance by Trinity Irish Dance Company. Fifth of July will be presented in the Studio Theatre, in the lower level of the PAC; tickets are $7 per person with a special arts night discount. Trinity Dance will perform in Sangamon Auditorium; ticket prices range from $28 to $37 with the arts night discount. Purchase tickets to either performance through the auditorium ticket office, call 206-6160. Reservations should be made by Friday, March 25.
