Workshop explores advantages of online learning
SPRINGFIELD – A workshop on “Online Learning to Enhance Career Advancement and Personal Enrichment” will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at the Capital City Center, 130 W. Mason in downtown Springfield. Sponsor of the program is the University of Illinois Alumni Association, in conjunction with the University of Illinois at Springfield.
Presenters include Claudia Delestowicz, from the U of I Alumni Career Center in Chicago, and Ray Schroeder, director of UIS’ Office of Technology Enhanced Learning. Participants will view a demonstration of online learning to see how it really works, explore U of I’s online learning site, and get tips on how online classes can help advance an individual’s career and enrich the quality of life.
The program schedule includes registration and snacks from 5:30 to 6 p.m. and presentations from 6 to 8 p.m.; a light supper will be available. Cost of the workshop is $7 for U of I Alumni Association members and $10 for non-members. Advance registration is required no later than Monday, April 1.
