UIS Management Department names Farley Scholarship recipientJune 14, 2004SPRINGFIELD - The Management Department at the University of Illinois at Springfield has announced that Kandace Shelton, of Springfield, Illinois, has been awarded the 2004-2005 Regina Midden Farley Scholarship, given annually to a student who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Management at UIS and who has a minimum grade-point average of 3.75. The student must also demonstrate superior performance at work. Shelton is a program assistant for the Small Business Development Center at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield. Established in 1991 by family, friends, UIS students and faculty, the scholarship honors Regina Midden Farley. Farley, whose bachelor’s degree in Management was awarded posthumously, was pursuing her degree part time and working full time at the Illinois State Board of Education at the time of her death. |
