“We study the universe because it is beautiful,” said Schweighauser, longtime host of UIS’ popular Star Parties. Survey of the Universe will help participants understand the ever-changing sky as well as how recent advances in the field of astronomy might affect our world. The UIS observatory will be used as weather and time permit.

To register as a non-credit participant, call (217) 206-6073 no later than Friday, January 20. Cost is $80 for adults, or $40 for students aged 10 to 18. Gift certificates are available.

Ongoing UIS students must register for this course through the regular online process.
