SPRINGFIELD - Dennis A. Rendleman's term expires December 31, 2006.

The committee, which consists of attorneys and judges from across the state, advises and makes recommendations to the Supreme Court on matters related to legal ethics and professional responsibility. Chief Justice Mary Ann G. McMorrow serves as the court's liaison to the committee.

Formerly general counsel for the Illinois State Bar Association, Rendleman currently has a private consulting practice concentrating in legal ethics and professional conduct advice for attorneys and judges, mediation, and appellate practice. He also serves on the Illinois Judges Association/Illinois State Bar Association/Chicago Bar Association Illinois Judicial Ethics Committee. He received the bachelor of arts in political science in 1978 and the J.D. in 1981, both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

The Pre-Law Center at UIS provides a central resource for students interested in learning about law school options and careers in the legal profession. Services include advice in structuring undergraduate programs to meet future career needs, preparing for LSAT exams, and developing application essays.
