UIS music groups to present Spring Brown Bag ConcertFebruary 24, 2005SPRINGFIELD - Music groups at the University of Illinois at Springfield will present their annual Spring Brown Bag Concert from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, March 4, in the Visual Arts Gallery, located in room 201 in the Health and Sciences Building on the UIS campus. The concert is free and open to the public. The concert will feature performances in a wide range of musical genres. “Bring your lunch and hear great music from the Band, Chamber Ensemble, and Chorus,” said Sharon Graf, assistant professor of ethnomusicology and director of music programs at UIS. Graf noted that the Brown Bag Concert is a chance for the various groups to showcase, and for the audience to preview, some of the pieces that will be presented at the annual Spring Concert. Music programs at UIS began in 2001 and opportunities for campus musicians to share their talents continue to expand. For more information about the concert or musical programs at UIS, contact Graf at 206-6570.
