UIS English program to host Trivia Night

February 17, 2004

SPRINGFIELD - The English program at the University of Illinois at Springfield will host a Trivia Night to benefit The Alchemist Review, UIS’ annual literary journal, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, March 5, in the main floor (Auditorium) lobby of the Public Affairs Center on the UIS campus. The event is open to the public.

Six to ten teams will compete for a $250 prize. Questions will be read by Ielleen Miller, library faculty liaison to the English program. All proceeds will benefit the Alchemist Review, a 30-year literary tradition at UIS. Published each April and celebrated at the Verbal Arts Festival, the Review presents original creative works such as short fiction, one-act plays, poetry, essays, and memoirs.

To reserve a table or for more information, contact Maureen Skube, English program graduate assistant, at (217) 206-7459. Cost is $10 per person, or $8 for UIS students with current ID. Information is also available at www.Springfieldtrivia.com.
