SPRINGFIELD The Womens Center at the University of Illinois at Springfield will present a performance by Magdalen Hsu-Li at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, in the Studio Theatre, lower level of the UIS Public Affairs Center. In 1998, her single "Monkeygirl" from her Evolution release was nominated for a GLAMA award. In 1999, she performed in the Black-A-Palooza Tour, a national tour of African-American music featuring a multicultural lineup of major label and independent acts. Hsu-Li is the founder of the Femme Vitale womens music and arts coalition and has established her own label, CHICKPOP Records.
