What: Former Middle Eastern correspondent for The New Yorker, Milton Viorst, will speak on “The Fractious Politics of Judaism.”

Background: Viorst’s appearance is
sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Central Illinois. He is the author of
more than a dozen books, many of them on the Middle East. His most recent book is What Shall I Do
With This People?
Viorst will be available to
sign copies of his book both before and after his talk, which will focus on
religion and politics in Israel. He
has recently returned from Iraq, and as a longtime observer of the Middle East,
will be willing to answer questions about the current crisis there.
