UIS faculty member publishes poetry collectionAugust 17, 2005SPRINGFIELD – Shake the Thunder Down, a collection of poetry by Marcellus Leonard, associate professor of English at the University of Illinois at Springfield, has been released by Daybreak Press, the poetry imprint of Pitch-Black, LLC.
Daniel Blackston, senior editor at Pitch-Black, noted, “This volume celebrates both the diversity of cultural experience and what Dr. Eugene Wiley called ‘poetic reflection, poetic brotherhood...and global-politico tragedy.’” Daybreak Press has pursued its mission to connect worthy Illinois authors to a broader audience since 1997, when it began publishing the journal of literary miscellany Prism Quarterly.
