PRESS RELEASE INDEX: This Year 2004 2003 2002 2001 2000		Media Advisory: UIS Fall Convocation August 16, 2005 What: Convocation. UIS Chancellor Richard Ringeisen will launch the new academic year with remarks titled “The Present as Prologue.” He will talk about why the coming year will be a new era in the university’s history. Following his presentation, 42 new faculty members will be introduced. When: 3 p.m., Wednesday, August 17 Where: Studio Theatre, located on the lower level of the Public Affairs Center.
		The University of Illinois at Springfield, one of three U of I campuses, is a small, public liberal arts university that offers 42 degree programs – 21 bachelor’s, 20 master’s, and the Doctorate of Public Administration. UIS has a special mission in public affairs and service and is known for extraordinary internships, a wireless campus, extensive online offerings, and a commitment to teaching.
