UIS management department names Farley Scholarship recipient

SPRINGFIELD Ė The management department at the University of Illinois at Springfield has announced that Sherri L. Ernst of North Pekin, Illinois, has been awarded the 2001-2002 Regina Midden Farley Scholarship, given annually to a student who is pursuing a bachelorís degree in management at UIS and who has a minimum grade-point average of 3.75.† The student must also demonstrate superior performance at work.

Ernst is a systems administrator at Pekin Hospital.† She and her husband, Scott Ernst, are the parents of two children.† She is the daughter of Tom and Rose Buchanan, also of Pekin.

Established in 1991 by family, friends, and UIS students and faculty, the scholarship honors Regina Midden Farley.† Farley, who was awarded a bachelorís degree in management posthumously, was pursuing her degree part time and working full time at the Illinois State Board of Education at the time of her death.
