Works by UIS Visual Arts students showcased in downtown exhibit

April 13, 2006

SPRINGFIELD – An exhibit of paintings, prints, drawings, and ceramic art by students in the Visual Arts program at the University of Illinois at Springfield will be on display from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, at the Quality Inn & Suites - State House, located at 101 East Adams, Springfield.  The event is free and open to the public.

The UIS Visual Arts program offers students an opportunity to study visual arts in an environment that emphasizes studio skills as well as an understanding of the historical and philosophical aspects of art. Areas of study include painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, graphic design, photography, and video production.
