UIS Visual Arts students to display works in concurrent exhibitsApril 15, 2005SPRINGFIELD - “Greater Than Oblivion” and “Coalesce,” mixed media exhibitions by 12 graduating seniors in the Visual Arts program at the University of Illinois at Springfield, will open Thursday, April 28, at two campus locations. “Greater Than Oblivion” will be on display in the UIS Visual Arts Gallery and run through May 12. “Coalesce” will be on display in the Lincoln Residence Hall Great Room through May 4. Opening receptions will be held at both locations from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on April 28. The receptions and exhibits are free and open to the public.
These senior portfolio exhibitions celebrate multiple artistic media and styles -- including graphic design, ceramics, and painting. “Greater Than Oblivion” features an eclectic display of work by Breann Black, Nadine Elchlepp, Michael Fedor, Glen Gill, Casey Richardson, and Lisa Zepp. Inspired by elements of the 21st century, “Coalesce” highlights the work of Lindy Bair, Casey Ewalt, Jessica Lay, Joe Miller, Christine Tabayoyong, and Jillian Zurawski. The Visual Arts Gallery is located in room 201 of the Health and Science Building on the UIS campus. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
