Media Advisory - Presentation by James MoroneApril 8, 2005What: Presentation by James A. Morone, professor of political science at Brown University, on moral values in American politics. Dr. Morone is the author of Hellfire Nation: Moral Values in American Politics. When: 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 11. Where: Studio Theatre, located on the lower level of the Public Affairs Center. Details: Dr. Morone’s appearance is part of UIS’ Public Policy Summit, which this year is examining “Politics and Religion: Global and American Perspectives.” His presentation will explain how fears of sin and dreams of virtue influence every political issue, from the war on terror to the war on drugs and from health care to foreign policy. His contention is that religious and moral movements have been behind almost all of the great developments in American history.
