Media Advisory - Raise Your Voice/Lobby Day

April 6, 2005

What: The University of Illinois at Springfield will host “Raise Your Voice – Lobby Day,” a two-day conference of students from colleges and universities all over the state.

When & Where: Sunday and Monday, April 10 and 11, at the UIS campus and the StatehouseSee partial schedule below.

Details: Students will attend forums on civic engagement and lobby their representatives. The event will culminate with a rally at the State Capitol Rotunda. Highlights include:

  • Sunday at UIS:
    Civic Engagement Activity - 2 p.m., PAC conference room C/D
    Intensive Training in Lobbying – 3 p.m. PAC conference rooms E, G, H
    Reception & Remarks from Legislators – 4:30 p.m., PAC restaurant
  • Monday at the Capitol:
    Rally and Public Statement – 10 a.m., Capitol Rotunda
    Individual Meetings with Legislators – 11:15 a.m., as arranged
