Southern Illinois University Law School Recruiter at UIS – February 14, 2012
The UIS Pre-Law Center is proud to welcome back Kara Thompson, the Southern Illinois University (SIU) School of Law Coordinator of Recruitment, to the UIS campus. On Tuesday, February 14, 2012, Ms. Thompson will be giving a lecture on the law school admissions process and the unique opportunities available to students at the SIU School of Law. All students interested in law school are encouraged to come regardless of their preferred law school. The lecture will be from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm in PAC 3-D.

Free Practice LSAT –February 24, 2012
The UIS Pre-Law Center would like to invite all students interested in attending law school to come and take a FREE practice LSAT on Friday, February 24, 2012 from 10:00am - 12:30pm in PAC 3B. The Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) is an essential part of the law school admissions process that all potential applicants must complete. Whether you are hoping to get a baseline score or just trying to get an idea of what the test is like this FREE LSAT is for you. The LSAT will be given using real test day time constraints and answers will be given at the conclusion of the test to provide students ideas on what areas to improve. Trip to Southern Illinois University School of Law in Carbondale on March 2, 2012
The UIS Pre--Law Center would like to invite all interested students to attend a tour of the Southern Illinois University School of Law in Carbondale on Friday, March 2, 2012. Activities for the day will include viewing the SIU law campus, meeting with admissions officers, and sitting in on a real SIU law class. Transportation will depart from the UIS campus at 7:15 am and return to Springfield around 6:00 pm. Seating will be limited and students should reserve a spot quickly by emailing the UIS Pre-Law Center at uisplc@uis.edu.

LSAT Prep Course – March 24, 31, and April 7, 2012
Announcing the Spring 2012 LSAT Prep Course! The UIS Pre-Law Center welcomes students interested in improving their LSAT scores to register for a Prep Course that will be held at the University of Illinois Springfield campus. The Prep Course will be held on three Saturdays (March 24, 2012, March 31, 2012, and April 7, 2012) from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. At $ 195.00, the cost for this course is significantly less than most other Prep Courses in the area. In addition to the low cost, students will also have the benefit of gaining more individual time with instructors. For more information and to register, please open the LSAT Prep Course Brochure. Valparaiso Law Representative Visit – February 8, 2012
On Wednesday, February 8, 2012, Michael Ramian, Assistant Director of Admissions at Valparaiso University School of Law will be visiting the UIS Campus. Mr. Ramian will have an information table set up next to the PAC cafeteria from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon and will be speaking in PAC 3C from 12:30 - 1:30. Mr. Ramian's topics of discussion will be about the law school admissions process as well as the unique opportunities available to students at the Valparaiso School of Law. Mr. Ramian will also be providing FREE PIZZA available to students in PAC 3C. Students planning on attending the 12:30 lecture in PAC 3C should RSVP with UIS Pre-Law Center by emailing us at uisplc@uis.edu.

Pre-Law Center Trip to the University of Illinois College of Law and the UIUC Law Fair - October 26, 2011
The Pre-Law Fair is a gathering of over 100 law school representatives who are here to talk with YOU about their schools. Everyone is welcome—students, alumni, community members. This event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. At this fair, you can:

Valparaiso Law Representative Visit - March 3, 2011

Thursday, March 3, 2011, Mike Ramian, Assistant Director of Admissions at Valparaiso University School of Law will be visiting the UIS Campus. Film Screening of The Paper Chase - February 9, 2011

The UIS Pre-Law Center would like to invite all students to a film screening of The Paper Chase on Wednesday February 9th at 6:00 PM in PAC Conference Room F. This movie tells the story of a first year law student’s experiences with difficult coursework and a demanding Contract Law professor. FREE PIZZA will be provided to those in attendance. After the movie students are invited to join us in a short discussion of several themes present in the movie and the prospect of forming a Pre-Law Society at here at UIS.

Chicago Kent College of Law January Admissions Open House - January 29, 2011

Two of the best ways to learn about a law school are to attend classes taught by the law school's faculty and to talk with students involved in extracurricular activities. Chicago Kent's January Open House, featuring mini-classes and a student organization fair, will provide prospective law students with both opportunities.
