Model Illinois Government Moot Court

In the Model Illinois Government Moot Court Competition, a two-person team of students makes appellate arguments against another two-person team, before a panel of judges, based on an extensive fact pattern and numerous legal precedents. Students are evaluated on the basis of the quality of their arguments and understanding of the legal issues, as well as their presentation skills. In 2015, UIS had the top two teams in the competition, after only two years of involvement, and UIS again won the competition in 2016. The competition takes place during the MIG Simulation in March.
