Christopher Z. Mooney is a professor of political science with a joint appointment in the Institute of Government and Public Affairs at the University of Illinois at Springfield. He studies U.S. state politics and policy, with special focus on legislative decisionmaking, morality policy, and legislative term limits. Mooney is the founding editor of the academic journal, State Politics and Policy Quarterly, and co-author of one of the leading undergraduate textbooks in his field, State and Local Politics: Institutions and Reform (2010, 2nd ed.), published by Wadworth/Cenage.
