Students frequently decide to concentrate most of their elective courses in another field of study. Most fields of undergraduate study are organized into minors. When a student completes the requirements for a minor, it is noted on the official transcript.

Requirements for a minor range from 16-28 hours, depending on the field. Lower division courses taken elsewhere may satisfy some of the requirements for a minor. Minor requirements are listed in the university's catalog and in a booklet describing all the minor fields offered at UIS. You can read the booklet in the political science office, in your PSC adviser's office, or in the Office of Enrollment Services.
