The Master of Arts in political studies degree is designed to join the basic theoretical pursuits of political science with the practical knowledge needed by effective public officials and political practitioners, enhanced by UIS’ location in the state capital. Program faculty encourage students to take full advantage of the academic and professional resources readily available.

No additional application materials are needed beyond the UIS application for graduate study.

To be eligible for full admission to the master of arts program in political science applicants must have earned a baccalaureate degree with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.00 scale.
