Campus wins SECA awards

For the fourth year in a row, UIS has won the SECA Chancellor's Cup Award, given in recognition of the highest participation rate among universities. The campus also received an outstanding achievement award for meeting (exceeding) its goal in the 2007 campaign.

The awards were presented April 17 during a luncheon at the Executive Mansion.

Some 195 UIS employees participated in the 2007 campaign, donating a total of $41,623.40. UIS' goal was $40,043.

Members of the 2007 UIS SECA committee were Janice Marvel, Steve Marvel, Erica Michael, and Carolyn Peck.

Students in online programs within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, in conjunction with an interdisciplinary faculty advisory committee, will conduct an online conference that will showcase their individual research areas and provide opportunities to connect students and faculty members across disciplines as well as geography.
