What: The ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the grand opening of Mary Jane's Cafe at UIS

When: 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 29

Where: First level stairwell area of Brookens Library on the UIS campus

Details: The name honors Mary Jane MacDonald, the first librarian hired at Sangamon State University. She is expected to be present at the ribbon-cutting.

The cafe is operated by Bevande Coffee, Bloomington, which has two shops on campus at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The menu features organic coffee, sandwiches, soups, salads, soft-serve ice cream and pastries.
