SPRINGFIELD — The UIS Alumni SAGE Society will sponsor an Alice's Restaurant Buffet Supper on Thursday, May 15, prior to the performance of Arlo Guthrie's "Solo Reunion Tour – Together at Last" later that evening in Sangamon Auditorium at the University of Illinois at Springfield. A cash bar reception beginning at 5:30 p.m. and a buffet dinner at 6 p.m. will be held in the Public Affairs Center Restaurant at UIS. Guthrie's performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium.
The buffet menu, developed from Alice May Brock's Alice's Restaurant Cookbook (Random House, 1969), will include Alice's Famous Meatballs made with grape jelly, Chicken Kiev, Eggplant Parmesan, salads, vegetables, and Brownies With and Without (whipped cream). The event will feature music and decor from the '60s, and participants are encouraged to wear period clothing.
Cost of the reception and buffet is $25 per person; the cost for members of the Alumni Association, public radio WUIS/WIPA, and Friends of Sangamon Auditorium is $20 per person.
