What: The University of Illinois at Springfield will host a City Water, Light & Power Smart Energy Forum
When & Where: 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, October 18, in Public Affairs Center conference room G on the UIS campus
Details: A panel of CWLP personnel will discuss the agreement between the utility and Sierra Club aimed at reducing the environmental impacts of the 200-megawatt, coal-fired power plant currently under construction at Lake Springfield, as well as an overview of programs currently offered by CWLP's Energy Services Office and ideas for new programs that are under consideration. The floor will then be opened for audience feedback and other ideas for energy conservation.
Co-sponsor of the event is UIS student group Students Allied for a Greener Earth.
