Details: UIS will celebrate Homecoming 2007 with a variety of special events and activities. A partial schedule follows.
Monday, October 1 – Homecoming Bonfire, 9:30 p.m., UIS Pond on the northeast side of campus
Tuesday, October 2 – Ultimate Entrepreneurship Challenge, 3 to 7 p.m., campus Quad. Speakers are young people who have made millions in business before age 25.
Students vs. Alumni Basketball Game, 7 p.m., UIS' new Athletics and Recreation Center
Thursday, October 4 –"Faces of Paris" opening reception, 5:30 p.m., Visual Arts Gallery, room 201 of the Health and Sciences Building
Lincoln Legacy Lecture Series: "Lincoln and the Law," 7 p.m., Brookens Auditorium. Speakers: Mark E. Steiner ("Lincoln, Lawyers, and the Rule of Law"); and Brian R. Dirck ("The Lawyer in the White House")
Pep Rally, 9:30 p.m., campus Quad
Friday October 5 – Homecoming Dance, 9:30 p.m., Food Emporium, PAC lower level
Saturday, October 6 – UIS Band Activities for high school and alumni musicians are scheduled throughout the day
Second Annual Homecoming Parade, 4 p.m., on campus. Features bands, candy, and floats. Parking available along the route in lots A, C, D, E, I
Homecoming Barbecue, 5 to 7 p.m., east side of Kiwanis Stadium
Men's Soccer Game – Prairie Stars vs William Woods, 7 p.m., Kiwanis Stadium. Fireworks display immediately following the game.
