Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist David Broder to speak October 18 as part of Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation's Jim Edgar Lecture Series
SPRINGFIELD – Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist David S. Broder, the national political correspondent for The Washington Post, will present the latest in the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation's Jim Edgar Lecture Series, "Where have all the leaders gone?" on Thursday, October 18, at 8 p.m. in the Sangamon Auditorium at the University of Illinois at Springfield.

"I had just returned from a vacation at my cabin, and all anybody wanted to talk about was '‘where is all the leadership in this country?'" said Broder, who reports on the national political scene for The Washington Post and writes a twice-weekly column that covers an even broader aspect of American political life. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1973 for distinguished commentary and has been named "Best Newspaper Political Reporter" by the Washington Journalism Review. Broder appears on numerous national television news panel shows, and his media peers have characterized him as the most influential and respected political journalist in the country.
