SPRINGFIELD – Forty-five students from the College of Business and Management at the University of Illinois at Springfield will be inducted into Sigma Beta Delta – an international honor society in business, management, and administration – in a ceremony and reception to be held on campus Saturday, May 12.
UIS Chancellor Richard Ringeisen and Provost Harry Berman will offer congratulatory remarks. Certificates and honor cords will be presented by Leo Bin, associate professor of Business Administration; Xiaoqing Li, assistant professor of Management Information Systems; and Nathan Steele, assistant professor of Management. Bin, Li, and Steele serve as president, vice president, and secretary/treasurer of UIS' Sigma Beta Delta Chapter, respectively.
Inductees include juniors Sara Elizabeth Alwardt, Jacob Ebert, Corinna Kuhn Edge, Eric David Dennis Luft, Victoria Lee Riggen, Marlene Trone, and Rhonda Urban.
Senior inductees include Maria Aldrich, Lisa Costello, Emily Jo Edmonds, Brittany Dawn Ellis, Betsy Anne Fullerton, Joanne Jacobs, Carol Mills, Lisa Parga, Andria Jo Petrucha, Janet Ann Prather, Jack Michael Rakers, Cathy Reilly, Philip Rukosuev, and Kevan Alan Stapleton.
Graduate students to be inducted are George Bates, Brooke Michelle Belford, Venkata Ramana Chamarthy, Aimee Cook, Kristi Lyn Corpin, Shuyan Deng Decker, David Charles Dooley, Jason Easton, Rebecca Anne Easton, Daniel Everett Haynes, Ian Karcher, Annette Kerwin, Ijon Leska, James Edward Luckey, Karen Anne MacKenzie, James Mies, Naqib Quarishi, Jaime Rabins, Theresa Sanert, Brad Martin Stevenson, Sanee Sarah Stevenson, Michael Theisen, Timothy Vruwink, and Yu Zhao.
An honorary membership will be awarded to William R. Schnirring, chairman and CEO of Springfield Electric.
Sigma Beta Delta was founded in 1994 to encourage and recognize scholarship and achievement among students of business, management, and administration, and to encourage and promote personal and professional improvement and service. For business students who attend a college or university with a Sigma Beta Delta chapter, membership is the highest national recognition they can receive.
