SPRINGFIELD -- Music groups at the University of Illinois at Springfield will present their annual Spring Showcase Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 27, in the Studio Theatre, located on the lower level of the Public Affairs Center on the UIS campus. A reception will follow.
The concert will feature a varied repertoire by the UIS Band, Chamber Orchestra, Chorus, World Percussion Club, A Capella Club, and the Faculty Fiddle Band.
Highlights include the band's performance of Henry Fillmore's "Crosley March," Robert Sheldon's "Prairie Portrait," and traditional jazz tune "Bill Bailey" as well as the chorus' presentation of madrigals, popular pieces by Elvis Presley and Queen, and, with the Chamber Orchestra, Vivaldi's "Beatus Vir."
