President White to Speak at UIS
University of Illinois president B. Joseph White will be presenting tonight, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. on the topic of "The Nature of Leadership." The program will be held in Brookens Auditorium.
The lecture will be followed by a book signing and reception in the Public Affairs Center restaurant at UIS. Both the presentation and reception are free and open to the public. The event is sponsored by the Friends of Brookens Library.
President White took his position at the University of Illinois in January 2005. Before that, he had been affiliated with the University of Michigan for nearly three decades, including a term as interim president.
Tonight, President White will share insights about leadership gained from his experience both in academia and in the private sector. After the lecture, he will sign copies of his book, "The Nature of Leadership: Reptiles, Mammals, and the Challenge of Becoming a Great Leader."
