The Pre-Law Center Presents...The Exonerated

The Pre-Law Center at the University of Illinois at Springfield will present a reading of the play "The Exonerated," by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, as its third annual Fall Forum at 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, in Brookens Auditorium.

Using mostly their own words, "The Exonerated" tells the story of six people – including Gary Gauger of McHenry County, Illinois – who were wrongfully convicted and sentenced to death. The play was originally produced in 2002 in Los Angeles and off-Broadway in New York, and was adapted for film by Court-TV in 2005.

The production is directed by Dennis Rendleman, director of the Pre-Law Center, with assistance from graduate student Natalia Vera. The cast of UIS students, faculty, staff, and alumni and community members includes Demetrius Delancy, Myaa Fallon, Patrick Foster, Grant Johnson, Kamau Kemayo, Cari Keysear, Dennis Rendleman, Carly Shank, Nick Teeter, and Michael Wallace.

Both the reading and a discussion session that follows are free and open to the public.
