Former library faculty is co-author of report
Kimberly Armstrong, previously director of collection services/associate professor of library instructional services at UIS and now a staff member with the Committee on Institutional Cooperation, is a co-author of a "Study of Scholarly Communication Education Initiatives," now available online through the Association of Research Libraries. Armstrong was a member of the UIS library faculty at the time the report was written. Her co-authors were Katie Newman, UIUC, and Deborah Blecic, UIC.
UIS library dean Jane Treadwell noted that the report "provides an overview of the current state of scholarly communication education initiatives at North American universities."
The CIC, a consortium of 12 research universities, has as its mission advancing academic excellence by sharing resources and promoting and coordinating collaborative activities among members.
