Campus plans observance of race riot centennial

2008 marks the 100th anniversary of the Springfield Race Riot. An ad hoc campus committee is seeking proposals for a spectrum of events (guest speakers, panel discussions, art exhibitions, performances and readings, new courses, or projects by individual students and student organizations, for example) to explore the impact and aftermath of the riot. Programs and events will be scheduled for the 2008 fall semester.
