Nominations open for student awards
Each year, the Student Government Association recognizes outstanding organizations and student leaders with five awards:
The President's Award recognizes the best student-organized event on campus.
The Homer L. Butler Award recognizes a student organization, registered under the ICCB, that has demonstrated qualities of an outstanding student organization.
Outstanding Committeeperson of the Year recognizes an individual who has been an outstanding student representative on any campus committee.
The Outstanding Student Senator Award is given for significant contributions to the SGA and is open all students who have served, during the past academic year, as senators.
The Donovan Pepper Award recognizes an individual who has shown dedication and outstanding contributions to the SGA. Nominations for this award should be sent to Cynthia Thompson, director of Student Life, at cthom2@uis.edu.
Send all other nominations to uissga@uis.edu, with the subject heading “SGA Award Nomination,” by Friday, April 13, at 9 p.m.
