MUSIC ENSEMBLES AT UIS

UIS Chorus - MUS 101/301:

Composed of UIS students, faculty and staff as well as community members, the UIS Chorus made its debut in the Fall of 2001 and gives several performances throughout the year. Highlight performances are the Springfield Festival of Trees, the UIS Talent Expo, the UIS Music Showcase Concerts, and UIS Commencement Ceremonies.

The choir is directed by Dr. Sharon Graf, Ph.D. and performs a wide variety of musical genres including sixteenth-century madrigals, Broadway classics, world music and much more.

Rehearsal Schedule:

Tuesday 7:00 – 9:15 pm and Thursday 3:30 – 5:30.

MUS 101 and 301 may be taken for one credit hour per semester. MUS 101 satisfies one credit of the Visual and Performing Arts General Education Requirement. Three credits are needed to completely satisfy this requirement. Interested musicians need not register for credit to participate.
