connect students with both our mentor network, as well as the many support services that are offered here at the University of Illinois Springfield. Students choose UIS because of our highly qualified faculty, excellent facilities, and the opportunities that await them upon graduation. The Student Mentoring Program is a tool to ensure that students complete their studies, graduate from UIS and move into professional careers. As part of the program, first-year undergraduate students are matched with a member of our mentor network. The mentors advise first-year students on time management and study skills, and provide information on campus resources. They also assist new students with getting involved with both campus and community organizations. Junior, seniors, graduate students and alumni comprise the mentor network. The Student Mentoring Program is open to all first-year students and transfer students. To work with a mentor, call the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, (217) 206-6333 or omsa@uis.edu . |
