Multicultural Student Affairs

Jeannie Mingeaud Jones is the Visiting Assistant Director of the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs. She assist the office in budgeting and programming events for the cultural diversity students at UIS. Her main focus is to provide educational programming for all cultural diversity students and provide the UIS population a flavor of awareness and appreciation of all cultures. Jeannie has been employed at UIS for 12 years. 9 years in the Institutional Studies Office, assisting the provost and the past three years assisting the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs. As a safe ally, she is also the coordinator for the Safe Zone Committee which provides LGBTQ training for the campus. She has her Masters in Educational Administration and Design Arts and B.A. in Communication both from the University of Illinois at Springfield.

Herb Caldwell is the Coordinator of Programs and Outreach for the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs.  Herb is coordinator of the mentoring program for OMSA. His duties include visiting Illinois high schools and community colleges on behalf of OMSA.  Additionally he works with local and area clubs, churches and organizations to promote UIS, and assist in preparing students for college.  Herb is enthusiastic to interact with both current and prospective students.
