Senior Staff Accountant
I decided that it was a great time in my career to earn a master’s degree. I had just started work at Midwest Office and believed that a master’s would enhance my knowledge and value that I could bring to the company. So far that has been an understatement. In every course I have taken so far, there has been at least a few points that I have been able to bring to my work and help grow my skill set and understanding. Choosing to earn an MBA was an easy decision for me. It was something that I knew would have to be done to progress my career and that it would be needed in the future.
Peoria MBA Students Participate in Marketing Analysis
Peoria MBA students were recently challenged with identifying and analyzing a business that could benefit from an improved marketing strategy. Group 1, under the direction of Professor Robert Wright, chose Las Delicias, a locally owned ice cream shop that puts a delectable twist on your standard idea of sweet treats by melding Italian recipes with Mexican flair. Las Delicias offers a blend of gelato and ice cream in dozens of all natural flavors ranging from avocado to queso but needed help attracting more customer attention.
The practical nature of the project promoted the team to engage with the business owners personally to understand strengths and opportunities for growth. Based on the key concepts and tools learned in Marketing Management (BUS 512), the team identified several low cost advertising, market development, and property development recommendations. By the end of the project, the business owners were eager to see the results of the team’s work.
