Dr. Judd In the news

A recent survey sponsored by the Small Business Administration's Office of Advocacy shows that about one in eight U.S. citizens between 17 and 65 are trying to start businesses, and 90 percent of them are people who spotted an opportunity rather than being forced into self-employment because they can't find work. That's good news! In conjunction with this development, there are technology trends emerging to reshape, perhaps revolutionize, the nature of small business management and can be captured under three concepts.

  • A person has the opportunity to be an entrepreneur on their own time and on their own terms.
  • Existence and competitive positioning is transforming from local-to-virtual-to-global as the Web fuels small business formation, operations and innovations.
  • The small business approach to marketing is shifting from "push" to "pull" strategies to attract and retain customers.
