The MBA degree at UIS is a general professional program intended to serve graduate students from a broad variety of occupations and with diverse professional aspirations.

The curriculum begins with the gateway course, BUS 501 Business Perspectives, and concludes with the capstone course, BUS 583 Business Strategy.
There are seven additional required courses that address the core responsibilities of contemporary managers and leaders.
The curriculum also includes three elective courses. Students may choose from accounting, marketing, finance, human resources, management, entrepreneurship and MIS coursework. With permission, students may choose elective courses outside the business college in, for instance, communication, computer science, etc.
