Online Math now has over 100 degree-seeking students!
When the online math degree program first began in Fall 2004, we had two online math majors. By the Spring 2005 semester, we had students from 5 states including Illinois, and two foreign countries. Congratulations and thanks to all of our students who have helped make this degree program a success!
Four days to go until Commencement 2008! We should have 3 online math students travelling here for the day; OTEL (the Office of Technology Enhanced Learning) and the Alumni Association will host them for an online brunch in the morning. The ceremony will be downtown in the afternoon. The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences' honors reception is Friday night from 4-6; this year math will have 9 honors graduates. Allison Leight will be our program marshal. >>Graduation schedule
There is also a new blog for math students and graduates to connect with each other, post news, and ask questions.
Two days ago we graduated 15 math students, this time including several online majors-- and one online minor. One online major and the online minor travelled to Springfield to walk in the ceremony downtown with the local majors.
Congratulations to all of our graduates for their hard work that has brought them to this point, and a special congratulations to the honors students:
Scott Ebbing was the undergraduate math program marshal.
