Independent Study Opportunities

Liberal Studies students may identify what they wish to learn and design their own course based upon this goal. The process of designing an independent study will require a student to outline a study plan, select the necessary learning resources, and seek a faculty member who will mentor and evaluate the learning.¬† The LIS Independent Study Proposal form¬†provides a format to supply this information and acts as a guide so that students will know all of the information they’ll need to pursue an independent study.

LIS 380 – Exploration of Learning Resources

LIS 499 – Independent Study: Tutorial

LIS 471 – Honors Thesis (Students should discuss the Honor’s Thesis option with their faculty advisor.)
