Shorts, light jackets, and rainy days mean spring is here and that can only mean one other thing-- Springfest!
Springfest is an annual tradition at UIS. Its commencement brings a week full of games, sports, competitions, and fun. This year it is being held from April 19-25. 22 teams have signed up to participate.
That week has the significance of also being the 12th annual Disability Awareness Week (DAW). Two events inspired by that theme will be offered for extra points during the week. Keep an eye out for when they will be announced. Activities during the week start with a captain’s meeting and conclude with prizes for teams who place first, second, and third, along with one prize for best sportsmanship.
Sunday the 19th: Meeting for all Captain’s at 6:00 p.m. in Lincoln Residence Hall great room.
The Springfest committee, along with two traditions coordinators helped plan all of these events. Stephanie Aimi, a co-traditions coordinator, says she had so much fun planning for Springfest and that the sports day is her favorite. “Everything should turn out great as long as it doesn’t rain,” stated Aimi.
