1. When did you first start playing softball, and what made you start playing it?
I started playing softball when I was five. All my friends were doing it so I felt like I had to be a part of it too. Growing up with brothers and sisters really gave me the motivation to play. When you go to a game of theirs it just makes you want to participate as well. My father has always been there for me and my older sister as a coach and a father, so a major part of playing was definitely to allow myself to get closer to him. Plus anytime I was able to be around my friends, I took full advantage. I love softball, its like a passion to me, yet, still is.
2.Whats your favorite movie?
A League of Their Own. I am pretty sure I know that movie by heart.
3. Do you have any superstitions or rituals you do before a game?
I always have to listen to music while warming up before a game. It just gives me the motivation and pumps me up. The last song I always listen to is Here Comes the Boom by Nelly.
4. The game of softball can be very rough. Whats the worse type of injury you ever got?
The worst injury I have ever had was probably last fall when I slid into 2nd base and kleeted my ownself. Yes, I did that to myself. My kleet had got caught on my leg as I was sliding and ripped a chunk out of my leg. I was safe! and managed to play the rest of the game but when that was over I went to the emergency room and had 4 stitches in my leg. Other than that, I have never really had a major injury.
5. What made you come to UIS to play softball?
I have never wanted to go to a junior college and was trying really hard to play at a university. Being that my sister was going to be a senior here at UIS she convinced Coach Fisher to come see me play. I guess I did good because after the game I had a scholarship waiting on me to come here. I was definitely blessed at that point.
6. Whats your favorite song?
I do not really have a favorite song. I like all music and tend to know alot of songs for every generation. I guess if I had to pick one I would choose Beyonce - Broken Hearted Girl. It says alot about friendship as well as relationships and sometimes I feel like it relates to me.
