Letter to the Editor:

Pajamas for Kids

When life gets tough and you find yourself stressing the little stuff, it's easy to take things for granted. these things could be simple items you have in your care, such as a hair-tie, decent shoes to put on you feet, or even a change of clothes to put on before you go to sleep.

Pajamas for Kids is an outreach project built to bring smiles to the faces of children in you Springfield shelters. Thousands of children around the world don't have sleeping clothes to change into for bedtime. Do you remember how excited you were when you got to put on your new pajamas and fun slippers when it was time for bed?

The idea of Pajamas for Kids was thought of by Genevieve Piturro. She was on the Oprah Winfrey show telling her story about how she got involved in such a project like raising brand new pajamas for kids. She was inspired from the heart and she wanted to bring the life back into the hearts of children that are in need.

Something as simple as having pajamas to change into excites needy children. If we all work together we can bring smiles and comfort to the children right here in Springfield. Let's help each other make a difference in the life of someone else.

By giving brand new pajamas, the children will feel like it's especially for them.

If you would like to contribute brand new pajamas, with tags still attached, please contact me at tspro2@uis.edu. We will also collect them at the men's and woman's basketball games during the month of November. Let's begin our journey, and help make a difference.
