If you drive down Sixth Street on any given night throughout the summer and early fall, you will see a crowd of people sitting on benches or at tables enjoying a sweet treat. If you have not been to Cold Stone Creamery yet, you're missing out. Cold Stone is a chain, and, while some of you from the Chicago-land area may have been there before, for most residents this is a new treat.
When you walk in to Cold Stone Creamery, the staff greets you in a friendly and cheerful manner. The thing they are known for the most is their actual ice cream.. They make it fresh everyday and offer different flavors like cheesecake, sweet cream, cake batter, chocolate cake batter, and chocolate. They also have amazing sorbet as an alternate choice which they also make fresh everyday. This is good for those who may be lactose intolerant. After they make their ice cream, they mix it with things on a frozen granite stone, hence the name, Cold Stone Creamery. They have a set menu of choice creations like my favorite, Peanut Butter Cup Perfection, which is chocolate ice cream with peanut butter, chocolate, and a peanut butter cup. They have other flavors like Birthday Cake Remix, Chocolate Devotion, Cheesecake Fantasy, and Banana Caramel Crunch. You can also create your own custom ice cream flavor by picking your flavor of ice cream and your own mix-ins. You can get three different sizes in either a cup or a freshly made waffle bowl or waffle cone.

They also make great milkshakes and have healthy options like great smoothies. You can get non-dairy fresh fruit smoothies like Berry Trinity and Berry Lemony. They also have NrGize Smoothies, which offer a boost like Energy, Antioxidant, Protein, and Anti-Stress. Another really cool thing that Cold Stone Creamery offers is free ice cream on your birthday if you sign up for their birthday club. Definitely perfect for any college student.
If you haven’t been to Cold Stone Creamery yet, I recommend checking it out. Whether you go and get yourself something to go, or you go with a group of friends and enjoy their outside seating, you'll love it.
