| A height adjustable Wavemaster Kickbox Bag is now available for use by UIS Students and Rec Center Members with a valid i-card. The new kickbox bag is stationed in the SLB 22 Multipurpose Room of the Rec Center. This room is being used by Campus Recreational Sports Fitness & Instructional Programs such as martial arts and yoga classes. It is also available for individual workouts during Informal Open Recreation Hours of the Rec Center when not reserved for a specific event. The Rec Center is now composed of 3 facilities: the Fitness Center, the Gym, and the new SLB 22 Multi-Purpose Room. Each facility requires persons to first check-in with their valid UIS i-card to the Recreation Supervisors at the Front Desk of the Campus Recreational Sports Office (located inside the Fitness Center) in order to gain admittance and use the facility. Any questions of how to adjust the new kickbox bag should be directed to the Rec Staff. Informal Open Recreation Hours in the Rec Center will be shortened the weekend of April 15-16. Saturday hours will be 10am-2pm only. The Rec Center will be closed on Sunday. The newly organized UIS Baseball Sport Club is open to any UIS male or female, undergraduate or graduate, part-time or full-time student with a valid i-card. The club is practicing in the Gym on Mondays, April 3 & 10 from 6-8:30pm and on Thursdays, April 6 & 13 from 6-9pm. Outside practice at the Rec Park Softball Field located across from Pennyroyal Court is being held on Tuesdays and Fridays from 3:15pm until dark for the month of April. The club is also planning on coordinating a campus league for play this spring to ready themselves for fall competition with other college club and athletic teams. Interested students interested in joining the club should contact club President Josh Pomeroy at jpome2@uis.edu or Stephen Brow at sbrow3@uis.edu. Baseball club members will be paying the $15 club dues and signing a roster and waiver release statement upon their participation in the club.
