Please view the Campus Maps to familiarize yourself with the campus. Driving directions to the campus, maps of each building, parking, and more are available on this site.
New international student Check-In takes place on Monday, August 15, 2016. There are NO EXCEPTIONS. Students MUST report to UIS that day. Check-In will be held in HSB (Health Sciences Building) Room 109 from 9:00am-4:00pm.
All new international students must Check-In. You will need to bring copies of the following documents to Check-In:
- Form I-20
- Passport and F-1 visa
- Form I-94 (this is your Arrival/Departure record and can be printed AFTER you arrive in the U.S.)
- yellow immunization booklet or completed immunization forms signed by your doctor. The immunization form can be found here – Required Immunization Form
We are unable to print copies of your I-94, passport, and visa and you must bring a copy with you to Check-In. If you fail to complete the Check-In process with ISS, you will not be allowed to attend the New International Student Orientation.
Orientation is MANDATORY for all new students. New International Student Orientations will take place on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 and Wednesday, August 17, 2016. You will be given an Orientation Ticket at Check-In with the location and time of your orientation.
Important: You WILL NOT be able to register for future classes (Spring 2017 semester) or add/drop classes until you have attended orientation and complete the Check-In process. Orientation is mandated by the U.S. government and attendance is mandatory even if you transferred from another university.
At orientation you will receive the Orientation Guidebook for New International Students. You may want to review this prior to orientation, but we will provide you with a printed copy at Orientation.
