Current UIS International Students are supported by the Office of International Student Services in many ways.
These include:
- Visa and immigration issues
- Work opportunities
- Maintenance of your SEVIS record and your immigration file
- Cultural adjustment programs
- Travel information
- Income Tax
- Assistance with on-campus employment and Social Security (pdf)
- Optional Practical Training (OPT) workshops
- Guidance in making connections with other university offices,
- Support of international student associations,
- Coordination of the UIS Host Family Program and a program offering opportunities for our students to speak at area schools and other organizations
- And, of course, the annual International Festival
