I joined IIP to better understand the role of law that is rarely spoken about. Wrongful Convictions are a reality within the criminal justice system, and IIP serves as a reminder to all legal professionals about the power of law; when used appropriately it yields spirit, vigor, and vitality in the justice system. Contrastly, when law is used hastily, rash, and when its application lacks reverence for truths and facts, miscarriages of justice occur. IIP reinforces my belief that although lady justice is blind, never is it acceptable for her to turn a blind eye to injustice.
